“Shift the logo a bit towards the left”

As a client, a lot of times we get stuck in the whirlpool of minor tweaks in the creative. There is nothing wrong with chasing perfection; the only issue is that sometimes it is at the cost of missing timelines. An emailer that was supposed to be sent at 11 am, gets sent at 3 pm — just to shift that logo. To the reader of the email, did it matter as much? Maybe not. The subject lines and the key message were far more important. I think there needs to be a balance between iterations and resources. If it is a non negotiable change, of course it needs to be done. If it is a tweak that is good to have, will add value and there is time, it is okay to be done. Otherwise, there is no point wasting both time and energy at both the client’s and agency’s end to keep iterating. Speedy approvals are much needed in today’s world. Not just in creatives, for everything else too. So much more can be done then!
